Resize a photo to an exact size in KB

Many visa, passport and exam portals reject photos that are too big or too small. Set the limit, and we make the file fit while keeping the best quality possible.

JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC.

How it works

  1. Compression first

We lower the JPG quality step by step to reach your limit. Most photos reach 50 KB with no visible change at normal viewing size.

  2. Smaller pixels only if needed

If compression alone can't get there, the image is scaled down a little at a time until it fits.

  3. A safety margin

Websites count KB differently (1,000 or 1,024 bytes). We stay just under your maximum and just over your minimum, so it passes on either.

Questions

How do I reduce a photo to 50 KB?

Upload the photo, choose 50 KB as the maximum, and download. The tool lowers the JPG compression step by step, and only makes the image smaller in pixels if it has to, so you keep as much quality as possible.

Why does my file show a slightly different size on the website?

Some websites count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024 bytes. We aim slightly under your maximum and slightly over your minimum, so the file passes either way.

Does this change the photo's pixel size?

Only if needed. If compression alone can't reach your target, the image is scaled down a little. You can also set exact pixel dimensions if the portal asks for them.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and your photo never leaves your device.
