Baby photo tips
- Lay your baby on a plain white sheet pulled tight on a bed or the floor, and take the photo from directly above.
- Use daylight from a window. Avoid flash straight in the face and keep your own shadow off the sheet.
- No hands, dummies or toys in the photo. Rolled towels under the sheet can keep the head straight.
- Make a sound above the camera so your baby looks up, and take lots of shots.
- Eyes: the US accepts an infant's eyes not being fully open; in the UK, babies under 1 don't need their eyes open.
